   Introduction to Art Center

Goals

Our goal is to offer Feng Chia University and surrounding community an aesthetic environment to experience the art humanity in a personal way.

History

The Arts Center was founded in February 1999. The first director was professor Liu Liang-Yu. From August 1999 to the present, the second director was professor Dr.   Chang Tsai Hsin ,the third director was professor Beatrice Pei Ni Gysen Hsieh.  Now the Arts Center has been lead by Dr. Ching Ming Liu.

 

Organization

The Arts Center is an affiliated with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. It consists of one director, one full-time staff, one full-time technician, several work-study students and volunteers. For the future development, the director has recommended several famous artists on or off campus as Fine Arts Promoting Committee members to consult and evaluate the art exhibits.

Art Gallery , Art Classroom , Collection Room

The Art Gallery is located the first floor, Ren Yen Building. It has two exhibition rooms, the total area is 2800 square feet; Navy blue is the main color within the Gallery. The Art Gallery is also equipped with central air conditioner, monitor, and security system. The Art Classroom and Collection Room are well-equipped rooms for teaching and collections.

Planning for Exhibition

Approximate six fine art exhibitions will be arranged during each semester; meanwhile, related arts conferences will be held.

 

Planning Courses

In order to cultivate a deeper understanding of fine arts among Feng Chia University's faculty, staff and students, courses of calligraphy, painting, drawing, and tea ceremony will be offered.

Volunteers

To expand the related fine art activities on campus, the Arts Center plans to recruit and train volunteers this semester.
